GENERAL INFORMATION
Arrive in Rieti on your own or by specially arranged transfer. Welcome drink and meeting with our tour manager that will provide explanations and tips about your itinerary and give you the Credential and information package with maps, route notes, lists of recommended restaurants and other services along the way, contact numbers to call in case of need. You must ask hotels, restaurants and other points on your route, to stamp your Credential, adding the date; upon arriving in St Peter’s Square you must present your Credential to the Pilgrim’s Office in order to get your well deserved Romea.

The route
All along the route, special signs show the right direction wherever necessary. The starting point is in the centre of Rieti (Cathedral). For about half its length, the path runs through the hills and valleys of the Sabina, covered with olive trees and woods, touching or passing by several little towns and villages: Ornaro, Torricella Sabina, Poggio San Lorenzo, Monteleone Sabino, Poggio Moiano, Ponticelli, Scandriglia and Nerola, all with some beautiful buildings, old churches, Medieval castles and towers, Roman ruins. The IX Century Orsini Castle, marks the entrance into the Tiber Valley. Along the second half, the comparatively large village of Montelibretti and the town of Monterotondo lay right along the path, while Montorio Romano, Palombara Sabina and Cretone lay a few Km off. Piazza Sempione, in the historical borough of Montesacro, is the first arrival point inside Rome, 15 Km from the end of the route in St Peter’s Square.

Accommodations
We try to offer accommodations as near as possible to the departing/arrival point of each leg, so that you can get there directly on your own.
In Rieti, Monterotondo and Rome, the hotels are located so close that there is absolutely no need for transportation to get to the hotel or to the path.
For all of the other points of arrival/departure, it may occur that no facilities be available within a reasonable distance: in this case, transportation from the arrival point to your lodgings and back to the path will be provided free of charge by your host.

Meals
Dinner and a rich buffet breakfast are included in all places, except for the hotels in Rome where breakfast only is included.
